EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
WHAT IS DOUBLE CLEANSING?
Throughout the day, airbourne bacteria and pollution is attracted to your skin and if they aren’t washed properly, they could potentially contribute to aging, pigmentation, and breakouts.
Double cleansing isn’t a must-do for most people.
If you wear heavy or transfer-resistant makeup and a mineral-based sunscreen (those with active ingredients titanium dioxide and/or zinc oxide), double cleansing ensures you remove both the makeup and the sunscreen, which means the leave-on skincare products that follow can better work their magic.
If you have very oily skin and are finding that your regular cleanser isn’t removing enough excess oil but that a stronger single cleanser leaves your oily skin feeling tight and dry. It’s far better to use two gentle cleansers than one harsh, drying cleanser.
DOUBLE CLEANSING involves using first a balm, cleansing oil, milk to break down make-up, SPF, sebum, and dirt on the surface of your skin first. This removes also sweat, bacteria, and dead cells.
Dispense your cleansing oil or balm into the palm of one hand and use the fingers on your opposite hand to apply it to wet or dry skin, massaging in gentle circular motions, including around the eyes, for 30–45 seconds.
Lightly wipe away makeup with the damp cotton pad remove, using both sides if necessary.

SECOND STEP:
Dispense a small amount of your regular facial cleanser and apply it to damp skin, foams into your hands, and then massage your face in gentle circular motions. Rinse the second cleanser and pat your skin dry with a clean, soft towel.
Cleansing then with deeper water-based, will clean much deeper into the pores to remove any impurities.
The temperature of the waters matters, too. To hot and you could risk irritating the skin, especially if you suffer from acne or skin conditions such as rosacea.
Is best to rinse with water that is lukewarm.
